Research Information

This year, for the first time, we had the opportunity to pre-populate draft submissions in Researchfish with data from the University’s research information management system, Symplectic Elements. In November and January 2017 batches of links were submitted and a total of 3,151 grant to publication links were accepted. This is equivalent to around 40% of the total added manually in the previous reporting window and it is hoped will substantially reduce the amount of time which PIs need to spend in the Researchfish system. In the Researchfish user interface these links will be visible by the label ‘Added by: University on behalf of [PI name]’.

In this pilot phase the upload functionality applied only to journal articles, conference proceedings and chapters with either a publisher generated DOI (not one produced within other systems such as Apollo or Figshare) or a PubMed ID with links to grants (held by the University of Cambridge).

All other outputs and activity still need to be added to Researchfish manually, as in previous years, and final submissions must be made in the Researchfish system during the reporting window (6 February-16 March 2017. More about Researchfish submissions can be found on the Research Operations Office website here.
