Research Information

The Research Strategy Office (RSO) supports the work of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, the Heads of Schools and the Research Policy Committee in devising and implementing strategies and policies to maintain and increase the University's research funding; shape the University’s response to a changing research landscape and the requirements of our funding partners; and enhance Cambridge’s standing as a world-leading institution.

The RSO team also works with researchers and research groups to help develop collaborative cross-disciplinary research activity, support the development of institutional relationships with major research and industrial funders, provide strategic and administrative support to the University's submission to the REF and oversee certain strategically important cross-School grants and the University's restricted calls process.
